Area Introduction

We are one of the largest providers of construction training in the Midlands, and we’ve invested heavily in our facilities, so you’ll have access to industry-standard workshops and fantastic resources. In fact, we have been highly recommended by the construction sector body, the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), so you can be confident you will be in a great learning environment.

Our teaching staff have had years of experience in industry, so they know just how to help set you up for a great career.

We have well-established links with construction employers and there will be plenty of opportunities for you to work on real projects. Our students and apprentices were part of the team building Nottingham’s tram system and they are involved in many other building projects around the city, including our very own brand new City Hub!

You will gain valuable work experience with industry partners and may even get the opportunity to take part in one of our well-established international work experience projects. You could even take part in competitions, to show off the skills you’ve learned and add to your CV.

Choosing a course or apprenticeship with us will ensure you lay the foundations for a successful future in the construction industry.

A career in construction is very rewarding, as it means that you will be part of essential work that helps to drive the economy forward - constructing a huge range of buildings and infrastructure including:

  • Houses, schools and hospitals
  • Roads, motorways and train stations
  • Large investment projects, such as big name stadiums and skyscrapers.

All of Nottingham College’s construction courses have been specially designed to lead students to a successful and rewarding career within the industry.

Since the construction industry is a career choice that attracts many people, we have made sure that our courses stand out from the rest and have all the building blocks you will need for a variety of roles.

There are a vast number of career options in the industry – whether you would like to be a Bricklayer, a Builder, a Carpenter or Joiner, a Painter or Decorator, a Planner, a Plasterer, a Plumber, a Building Trades Supervisor or Groundworks Person – there are many choices available to you.
