Area Introduction
If you want a place where you’ll have the freedom to let your imagination run wild, and the support to allow your creative talents to come alive, you’ve come to the right place! At Nottingham College you will work and learn alongside professional and successful artists and designers in the heart of Nottingham’s Lace Market, part of the city’s Creative Quarter.
Many of our former students are now successful and nationally-renowned makers, designers and business owners, so we’ve got a strong track record in supporting students to reach their full potential.
We offer courses from Level 1 to degree-level, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to progress with us!
All our students enjoy the use of our six-storey former lace mill at 25 Stoney Street, which is dedicated to art and design, including extensive studio spaces, a print room, photographic dark room and studio, 3D workshops, a ceramics workshop and industry standard digital facilities.
You’ll have the opportunity to showcase your work to the public and industry professionals at our art and design exhibitions, which are a real highlight of the year.
Many of our art and design courses are validated by the prestigious University of the Arts London (UAL). We have a close working relationship with UAL, with students regularly progressing to study there as well as other renowned universities across the country, including the world-famous Central Saint Martins.
The creative industry is a vast, exciting and ever-changing industry that is host to a wealth of career opportunities.
Nottingham College totally understands the creative market and has strong links to Nottingham, UK and even globally based leading businesses.
We know what employers are looking for when seeking to recruit employees to their businesses. Therefore, our Art and Design courses contain all the necessary skills and knowledge you need to thrive within creative industries.
There are a vast number of career options in the industry – whether you would like to be an Artist, an Animator, an Art Curator, a Graphic Designer, an Illustrator, an Interior Designer, a Merchandiser, a Photographer, a Product Designer, or a Web Designer – there are many choices available to you.
