Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (Level 4 UAL) - Full-time

The Lace Market is one of the UK’s most iconic locations for the fashion industry so what better place to practise and perfect your craft in one of the city’s former lace houses.

You’ll work with industry-standard equipment, alongside and with the support of professional tutors and get an amazing opportunity to show your work in a fashion show open to the public at the end of each year.

You’ll learn a range of art and design skills and experience working in areas such as:

• Fine art
• Graphic design
• Fashion
• Textiles
• Photography
• 3D design and illustration

through a series of exploratory workshops and projects.

You will have the opportunity to specialise in the area that interests you the most, developing your skills in your specialism and producing a portfolio of work to take to degree interviews. Over the last 20 years, this course has enabled hundreds of students to progress on to reputable degree courses all over the country.

You can expect to take part in a variety of field trips and gallery visits, which will broaden your understanding of the art and design world and help you to develop your own creative language.

You will also present your work in an annual studio-based end of year show.
