Area Introduction
We offer a wide range of Sport courses, which is one of the key factors in making us the number one further education (FE) provider of sport in Nottinghamshire!
A course with us will open up an exciting range of careers. For example, our students have gone on to become personal trainers, PE teachers, nutritionists, leisure managers, professional sports coaches and even professional athletes.
You can choose from pathways in Sports Development, Fitness, Training, Coaching, PE Teaching and Elite Sports Performance. You’ll benefit from a well-rounded educational and sporting experience that can lead directly into an exciting career, or to university-level study.
To complement your course, we also organise residential trips in the UK and overseas, plus day trips. The Sport department also offers a comprehensive work experience and volunteering scheme through our exclusive partnerships in the world of sport. Highlights include: coordinating one of the largest European tennis events for children at the Nottingham Tennis Open on behalf of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), volunteering at the National Ice Centre and Trent Bridge International Cricket Ground and coordinating primary school sport events.
Sport is as attractive to many as it has ever been in the UK and world-wide - particularly with the rising popularity of sporting stars and personalities like Lewis Hamilton, Anthony Joshua and Jessica Ennis-Hill.
We have the expertise, high quality training and connections to ensure our students can stand out amongst competitors in a variety of sports and sports related professions.
There are a vast number of career options in the industry – whether you would like to be a Fitness Instructor, a Grounds Person, a Leisure Attendant, a Personal Trainer, a PE Teacher, a Referee, a Sports and Exercise Psychologist, a Sports Coach, a Sport Development Officer, a Sports Physiotherapist, a Sports Scientist – there are many choices available to you.
A sport course with us will open up an exciting range of careers. For example, many of our students have gone on to become personal trainers, PE teachers, nutritionists, leisure managers, professional sports coaches and even professional athletes.
