There are many benefits available for Nottingham College staff to access!

Training and development

We take the development of our staff seriously. Our dedicated team of staff development professionals organise more than 600 training sessions every year for staff to take up.

Pension scheme

Our Academics have access to the National Teachers’ Pension Scheme and our non-academics can access the Local Government Pension Scheme or NEST.

The LGPS gives you:

  • Secure benefits
  • At a low cost to you
  • And your employer pays in too

You can look forward to your retirement with the LGPS with:

  • A secure pension
  • Flexibility to pay more or less contributions
  • Tax-free cash
  • Peace of mind
  • Freedom to choose when to take your pension
  • Redundancy and Efficiency Retirement
  • Flexible retirement

We know that pensions aren’t always a priority for people. There are always other things to pay for and it’s not always easy to put money aside for the future.

However, putting away even small amounts can make a difference to what you get in retirement. You may find that once you get into the habit of saving it’s easier than you think. As a member of NEST you can also stop contributing if you need to and start contributing again later.

If you’re entering teaching for the first time, it goes without saying you’ve got a lot on your plate. And with retirement seeming so far away, you can be forgiven for not putting your pension at the top of your ‘to do’ list. But if this is the case, we’d invite you to stop for a second and think about it.

As a member of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, you’ll be paying into your pension from your very first pay cheque and your employer will be paying in too.

Annual Leave

Annual leave entitlement ranges from 28 days to 39 days a year, dependent on your role. Long service is rewarded with additional annual leave days.

Not enough? Nottingham College offers the opportunity to purchase up to 5 additional days leave per year.
