Course Introduction

This course is perfect if you want an introduction to creative and technical aspects of creative media production, plus the knowledge and understanding to progress to further education and employment within the creative industries.

You’ll learn a range of creative media methods and skills, including:

  • Production techniques in creative media
  • Understanding an audience in creative media production
  • Contextual research for creative media production
  • Audio production and technology
  • Visual production and technology
  • Interactive media production and technology
  • Personal project
  • Presentation in creative media production

You can expect to study a practical work-related course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. It will introduce you to your chosen career and provide a good basis to progress onto a more advanced qualification.

Course Information

UAL Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology

Level 2

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grades 9–3 (A*–D), including English Language and Maths – one of English Language or Maths must be grade 9–4 (A*–C). Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 4 (C) or above.

Assessment is continuous and will consist of a portfolio of reports, presentations and creative projects plus a final major project at the end of the year.

Choose to follow with a Level 3 TV & Film Production course, or maybe a job in the creative media production industry.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
