Course Introduction

This course is perfect if you have mild learning difficulties and/or disabilities and you want to progress employment and you think you are ready to move into the world of work.

This course will help to support you with your aspirations and give you the skills needed to understand and prepare for your future within your chosen career path.

We will work with you on developing communication and social skills, with strategies to enable progression in your employment placements and support you with the skills you need to succeed.

You will need to continue study English, maths, ICT, personal and social development and independent living skills.

There is a range of vocational & career pathways attached to the course:

  • Catering
  • Land Based
  • Horticulture
  • Enterprise

There is also comprehensive enrichment elements built into the programme and all students undertake work experience placements and/or supported internships

There is a strong element of tutorial support and wellbeing underpinning the course.

No formal qualifications are required. We will invite you to sit an Initial Assessment and will be looking for a result of at least Entry Level 3

If your Initial Assessment results are lower than this, you may be suited to a different course, but don't worry as after your Initial Assessment, we'll always clearly explain all your options.

You will carry out work to achieve competence in each component of the course. You will be supported to produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your skills, experiences and knowledge in each area of the programme.

The programme is fully supported and run in small groups. It endeavours to provide a positive and rewarding learning experience and environment to meet all your learning needs.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
