Course Introduction

This course is perfect if you want to develop your knowledge and understanding in health and social care and wish to progress on to the Level 3 Health and Social Care course. The course is a pathway if you are hoping to develop your studies over time and possibly go on to university.

You’ll learn a range of key subject areas in health and social care and includes a bank of optional units, allowing learners to pursue an interest in chosen subject areas.

  • Safeguarding
  • Communication
  • Mental Health
  • Dementia
  • Working in Health and Social Care

You can expect to develop a portfolio of work and be assessed in your work placement. A key aspect of the course is personal development, with a focus on English and maths skills depending on initial assessments.

Course Information

CACHE Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care

Level 2

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grades 9-3, including English Language and Maths – one of English Language or Maths must be grade 9-4.

You must be aged 16-18 to apply for this course.

You will be expected to develop a portfolio of work and attend work placement sessions where you will be assessed.

Choose to follow with a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. You could also work towards a degree course in nursing or social work.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
