Course Introduction

This course is perfect if you are on the path towards building a career in computer technical support. You’ll learn a range of units including:

  • Customer Support Provision (Core unit)
  • Principles of ICT Systems and Data Security
  • Install and Configure ICT Equipment and Operating Systems
  • Install & Configure and Maintain Software and Install
  • Configure and Test ICT Networks

You can expect a largely practical course with lots of hands-on computer work. You’ll have a fuller understanding and knowledge of technical support in the workplace and will develop the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to undertake this role.

City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in ICT Systems Support

Level 2

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at Grade 9-3 (A*-D), including English Language and maths – one of English Language or maths must be grade 9-4 (A*-C) (Functional Skills L1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE Grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills L2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above.

Depending your results and if meeting the requirements you could progress to:

  • IT (Level 3 BTEC National Diploma)
  • IT (Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma)
  • Esports (Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma)
  • T Level - Digital Production, Design, Development (Level 3)
  • T Level - Digital Support Services (Level 3)
  • T Level - Digital Business Services (Level 3)

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
