Course Introduction
If you find supporting children and young people learn in the classroom enjoyable and rewarding, this is the course for you. You’ll learn all about how children develop their understanding, professional best practice and how to promote learning.
You’ll be volunteering for at least 12 hours per week in a teaching and learning environment, so there will be plenty of opportunities for you to put everything you’re learning into practice.
This course is a great mix of the theoretical and the practical. Units you’ll cover will give you a good understanding of what’s involved in supporting teaching and learning and how you can enhance the development of a child or young person, they include:
- Child and young person development
- Safeguarding the welfare of children and young people
- Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
- Equality, diversity and inclusion in work with children and young people
- Support children and young people's behaviour
You’ll be fully supported by your tutor who will do all they can to support you through the course to ensure you get the best possible experience and succeed in your assignments.
Course Information
NCFE CACHE Level 2 Supporting Teaching & Learning Certificate
You'll need:
- 4 GCSEs at Grade 9-3 (A*-D), including English Language and Maths, one of English Language or Maths at Grade 9-4 (A*-C) NOTE: Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE Grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 as GCSE grade 4 (C); or
- A relevant Level 1 vocational qualification plus English or Maths with at least one Functional Skills Level 2 and one at Level 1
- To be aged 19+
You will be assessed in a variety of methods including assignment tasks, direct observation at placement and a portfolio of work.
- Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools CACHE Certificate
- Advanced Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching & Learning in Schools
