The financial aspect of studying a higher education course is very important.

The amount of support available and tuition fees will depend on the programme you choose to study and whether you study full or part-time. It may also depend on personal factors, such as your household income.

HE Student Welfare and Financial Support

Our HE Student Welfare and Finance Officer is based in the HE (Room F144), at the Adams Building.

They can help with welfare queries, such as difficulties with any aspect of student life - living away from home, budgeting, loans and student finance.

If you are studying at another centre, a visit can be arranged to come over and meet you at a convenient time.

For personal advice please contact 0115 838 0612 or email he.enquiries@nottinghamcollege.ac.uk

Student Loans

Prospective students from England should contact Student Finance England as soon as possible to obtain details of the funding that is available.

Students can find out more and apply online at DirectGov, or by calling 0300 100 0607. Full-time students can apply online for student support.

Students from Wales, Northern Ireland or Scotland should contact their national student finance service:

Nottingham College's HE Welfare and Finance Officer will be pleased to answer any queries once you have contacted the above and obtained the relevant information.

Once you have enrolled at Nottingham College, you may be eligible for additional financial assistance through the Access to Learning Fund, if you run into financial difficulties.

Tuition fee loans are available to help with the cost of studying and maintenance support can help with your living expenses. The maintenance loans are paid into your bank account in three instalments - one each term. The loans have to be paid back, the grant doesn’t.

You can apply for the fund at any point during the year and it is usually non-repayable. You must have taken advantage of all forms of statutory support available to you as an HE student before you apply for support from this fund.
