Autumn Crafts - Part-time

Community courses are “first steps” for adults to learn new skills, develop confidence, meet others in welcoming classroom. The purpose of courses is to support students into further learning or employment (paid or voluntary)

This course is primarily for people who have an interest in arts and crafts and who would like to develop this interest in a relaxed, supportive and friendly environment. It is suitable for beginners and also for those who wish to improve existing skills. We will work on a range of creative projects loosely based around the inspirational theme of autumn.

Course Knowledge and Skills

• Technical skills in a wide range of media, including pencil, charcoal, watercolours, acrylics and collage
• Observational drawing skills and imaginative drawing skills
• Composition
• Colour mixing theory
• Illustration of a text

On this course, you will learn to draw, paint, use your imagination and express your personal interests. You will also learn how to research ideas and how to use what you have found in a creative way.

You should attend regularly and arrive on time to make best progress on course

You will complete a short diary weekly in class time, to record your progress and receive written tutor feedback.

You will use Microsoft Teams whilst on the course. Microsoft Teams is a free, safe online app used by Nottingham College for tutors to contact students.

Using Teams will also enable you to develop and feel confident using digital skills.
