Course Introduction

This course offers more creative barbering skills including:

  • Hairdressing consultation support for colleagues
  • Cut men's hair to create a variety of looks
  • Cut facial hair to create a variety of looks
  • Colour hair to create a variety of looks.

Course Information

Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Barbering

Level 3

You will need:

  • To be aged 19+
  • A relevant Level 2 vocational qualification in a related field and have achieved English and Maths at grade 9–4 (A*–C) or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths. If you do not have both GCSE English and Maths at 9-4 (A*-C), or Functional Skills, we may accept one of them at GCSE Grade D in addition to your 4 GCSEs at 9-4 (A*-C).

All students must undertake and pass a practical dexterity test prior to enrolment to ensure you are suitable for this course.

Adults who are aged 19+ with relevant industry experience but without the necessary qualifications are welcome to apply. You may need to complete an English and maths assessment to determine the right course and support for you.

This part-time route is only available to students who are aged 19+.

Assessment consists of one written end test and two practical synoptic assessments.

Progression can be discussed with the course tutor.

You will be required to purchase a kit and uniform. Costs for these will be discussed at interview.
