Course Introduction

This course is perfect if you want the opportunity to study specialist work related qualifications in a range of sectors. The course will give your the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to prepare you for employment or further career development.

You’ll learn a range of topics including:

  • Service provision and roles within a variety of settings
  • Principles and values in health, social care, early years and childcare
  • Communication with adults and children in health, social care and early years and childcare
  • Human growth and development.

You can expect taught sessions which include the opportunity to develop your personal research skills. You will have individual tutorial support and in addition to the main course content there is Functional English, maths and personal social development.

Course Information

CACHE Level 1 Diploma Introduction to Health and Social Care and Young People's Settings

Level 1

You’ll need 5 GCSEs at grades 2-3, including English Language and Maths at grades 2-3, or a relevant Entry 3 vocational qualification and you will also be asked to sit an initial assessment. The initial assessment must show that you are ready to study English and maths at Level 1. If your results are lower than this, don't worry, we'll find the right course for you.

You must be aged 16-18 to apply for this course.

Each unit covered is assessed through a series of mandatory tasks.

Choose to follow with a Level 2 courses in health and social care or other appropriate Level 2 courses such as in Early Years and Education.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
