Course Introduction

This course is perfect if you want a creative grounding in taking photographs and exploring the art of displaying images on the page, both digitally and using more traditional methods.

You’ll learn connections between image, colour, page layout, typography, design, plus how your work is perceived by a wider audience. You will work in our dedicated photographic studios, darkrooms, and iMac computer studios.

You can expect to also cover working with digital SLR cameras, studio and experimental photography.

UAL Level 2 Diploma in Photography

Level 2

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grades 9–3 (A*–D), including English Language and Maths – one of English Language or Maths must be grade 9–4 (A*–C). Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 4 (C) or above.

You will produce a portfolio of work for continuous and ongoing assessment throughout the year.

Choose to follow with Level 3 courses or employment as a community artist, photographer, graphic designer, illustrator, web designer or you could work towards becoming an art teacher.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
