Course Introduction

This course is perfect if you love travel, have a passion for tourism, and would like to combine the two.

You’ll learn about worldwide travel destinations, professional customer service, how to create promotional materials, different visitor attractions, and the role of tourist information centres.

Mandatory Units:

You can expect to learn the skills you’ll need to progress your career and land your dream job. You’ll complete scenario-based assessments with practical/written assignments. Nottingham College will help you to gain valuable experience on work placements that give you a real insight into the industry

Course Information

NCFE Level 2 Extended Certificate in Travel and Tourism

Level 2

You’ll need 4 GCSEs at grade 9–4 (A*–C), one of which must be English Language or Maths. Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 4 (C) or above.

You will be asked to take part in an externally set scenario-based assessment alongside practical and written assignments.

Choose to follow with further study at Nottingham College on a Level 3 course in Travel and Tourism or Aviation Operations. Career options include: event management roles, travel agent, theme park employee, cruise ship employee or holiday resort representative.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
