Course Introduction

This course is perfect if you love travel and want to have a career in helping people to make the most of their holidays.

You’ll learn about travel to long-haul destinations, professional customer service, events in the travel and tourism industry, and the responsibilities involved as a UK destination representative.

We offer a one-year BTEC Subsidiary Diploma and a two-year BTEC Diploma. Students choosing the one-year option can apply to top-up to the BTEC Diploma in just one further year of study.

You can expect to gain all the skills you need to develop a successful career in the industry. Nottingham College will help you to gain valuable experience on work placements that give you a real insight into the industry. You’ll also complete externally-set scenario-based assessments and practical/written assignments.

Course Information

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma/Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism

Level 3

You’ll need 5 GCSEs at grade 9–4 (A*–C), including both English Language and Maths or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths, or a relevant Level 2 vocational qualification with English and Maths GCSE grades 9–4 (A*–C).

You will be asked to take part in an externally set scenario-based assessment alongside practical and written assignments.

Choose to follow with further studies at Nottingham College on to the Level 3 National/Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism, then a foundation degree in tourism management. You could also pursue a career as an event organiser, travel agent or travel the world by gaining employment on a cruise ship.

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
