Course Introduction

This course is perfect if you enjoy preparing and cooking food and you’d like to explore a career in the catering industry.

You’ll learn about the importance of professional hospitality in the UK and to our own region’s economy. You will develop the skills required to work successfully in the industry, including how to communicate effectively with customers and your team, developing ideas for menus, food and beverage preparation and service.

You can expect real hands-on experience whilst working with like-minded people. You will learn in our industry-standard kitchens and complete a range of assessments to develop your ability in delivering good customer service in a commercial catering environment.

Course Information

Introduction to the Hospitality Industry City & Guilds Entry 3 Certificate

Entry Level

You’ll need to complete an initial assessment before you start on the course which will involve you taking a skills test and meeting with the tutor.

You will be assessed through a combination of assignments, practical work, tests and coursework.

Choose to follow with further study at Level 1 or our Introduction to the Hospitality Industry Level 1 Diploma. You could also develop your experience and skills further with employment as a catering assistant or kitchen assistant

Students aged 16-18 don't have to pay tuition fees.
